Our Staff

All of our staff are qualified, experienced practitioners with children of their own. Our staff team provide a warm homely welcome and are much loved by the children and our families. Read a little about us below.

Sarah O'Toole

Sarah is our setting manager. She initially joined the pre-school committee in 2001 when her daughter was at pre-school.
 
After completing a placement at the pre-school and a local primary Sarah completed a Level 3 Learning Support qualification and left her job as a full time training manager at a communications centre.
 
Sarah has been employed at the pre-school since 2005, formerly as the deputy manager before being promoted to pre-school manager in 2009.
 
In the past twelve years as manager, Sarah has seen through several developments including the implementation of the new EYFS curriculum and a total refurbishment to both the inside and outside of the setting.

Sarah completed her Level 3 Forest School Leader qualification in 2019, and is passionate about providing Forest School and outdoor learning opportunities

Teresa Steele

Teresa, our Assistant Manager, was formerly a volunteer who undertook her Level 3 Children and Young Peoples Workforce training, with the support and encouragement of the pre-school and became a valued member of staff in 2013.

Teresa is our CAF (Common Assessment Framework) Lead & Child Protection Lead (Level 3) and has undertaken further specialist training in General Channel Awareness (Counter-terrorism), The Prevent Duty and Female Genital Mutilation.

Tracey Lewarne

Tracey, our Assistant Manager for Learning and Development, joined our staff team in 2018.

Tracey is enthusiastic in planning  inspiring, rich and broad learning opportunities for the children, based on the children's interests and from whole staff team observations on what the children already know as individuals.

Because of her passion and knowledge, Tracey was promoted to Assistant Manager for Learning and Development in Summer 2020, where she spent much of lockdown re-designing us a bespoke and fluid curriculum.

Beth Williams

Beth, joined our pre-school team more than twenty years ago in 2000, as the leader of our toddler group.

 

Beth has always enjoyed working with children and their families and was pleased to join the pre-school  team in 2002.

With much experience and training in Special Educational Needs, Beth offers tailor made support to children and their families who have additional needs.

 

Beth is our setting Behavioural Support Lead, Makaton, Communication and Language Lead and has completed her honours degree in Teaching and Learning with Worcester University (based in Mid Cornwall), 2017.

Beth also works as an Early Years Inclusion Officer for Cornwall Council, supporting over 50 EYFS settings.
